Women of all ages!!!! Women of all life-styles! Bring your mothers, aunts, cousins, fellow employees, friends, daughters (high school and older)—This past summer our annual ‘Women as Witness’ symposium had to be rescheduled for a variety of reasons. BUT—we are back on target and excited to announce that Saturday, Nov.15th, 9-3:30, Sarah Hart will being flying in from Tennessee to be our presenter. The topic for the day is “Daughters of God: Day of Reflection” based on Older Testament women) which Sarah presents nationally. This year the Oregon Catholic Press will co-sponsor this event which starts with the retreat during the day and a FREE CONCERT—Open to everyone— in the evening. Sarah is a recipient of six Unity Awards for her music and is a songwriter for OCP. The retreat will have presentations, prayer, stories, laughter, music and small-group interactions. The symposium is $30 which includes snacks, lunch and materials. Please call the parish office (Barbara Harrison—503-231-4955) to sign up by November 7.

The Religious Education ‘Family Gatherings’ program (grades 1-6) offers families whose children are home-schooled, in public schools or private schools—other than Catholic—the opportunity to gather once a month to experience faith-based formation. Our first meeting will be Sun¬day, October 5th, 11:45–12:30PM in the Paulist Center, St. John’s Room.

Child Protection Workshop rescheduled: to Sunday, Sept. 28th, 11:45am–1:15pm in the Paulist Center. ALL volunteer teachers, teacher’s aides and any adult who will be volunteering around children must attend the Child Protection workshop required by the Archdiocese. For those of you who attended last year—you do not need to attend this year.

If you are a Eucharistic Minister or want to be a Eucharistic Minister for our Liturgies we have scheduled a required training/retraining for Saturday, September 20, 10am–Noon in the church. 

If you are a Reader or want to be a Reader for our Liturgies there will be a required training/retraining on Saturday, September 27, 10–Noon. Please mark these dates on your calendar.

 

The PARISH LIBRARY is available in the Memorial Chapel (coffee/donut room). You are invited to browse either before or after Mass.  We suggest a sign-out period of one month.  Enjoy!

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is offered for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic. Meeting weekly (Wednesday evenings, 7-8:30pm), we explore the Catholic doctrines and traditions of our faith. Please call the church office to register.

Adult educational opportunities are offered once or twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Some series are four weeks. Subjects vary so please check this website or the church bulletin for announcements. During Advent and Lent a Bible Study is offered on Tuesdays 10:30-noon.

Adult Retreats are offered through the year: Advent/December: 3day overnight, Advent day of recollection. Lent/March: 3day overnight, Lenten day of recollection Pentecost/May day of recollection

"Busted Halo," weekdays, 7-9 p.m.(EST), hosted by Paulist Father Dave Dwyer, who was not ordained until he reached his 30s. He had a career in television (MTV, Comedy Central) and radio prior to entering the seminary. Father Dwyer aims to reach young adults and teach them that nobody is perfect, hence the name "Busted Halo."
