GAYLO - GLBTQ OUTREACH

GAY AND LOOKING FOR A SPIRITUAL HOME?

GALO seeks to reach out and connect with GLBT persons throughout the metropolitan area in order to help them feel welcome in the Catholic Church. This commission plans spiritual activities, service projects, educational programs, and social events for gay and lesbian people, their families and their friends. The commission also seeks to build bridges of cooperation and understanding with other faith communities and organizations.

Remembrance: “This year, as part of the national AIDS Day remembrance, St. Clare's parish will host the evening Mass, Tuesday, December 2, 7:00pm to remember both those living with AIDS and those who have died from AIDS. Bishop Steiner will be the celebrant as well as several priests as con-celebrants. Everyone is invited to participate in this Liturgy remembering all people who are still affected by AIDS not only in our own communities but throughout the world where countless thousands (including children) still have no treatment.”

BUSTED HALO IS ON SIRIUS RADIO

"Busted Halo," weekdays, 7-9 p.m.(EST), hosted by Paulist Father Dave Dwyer, who was not ordained until he reached his 30s. He had a career in television (MTV, Comedy Central) and radio prior to entering the seminary. Father Dwyer aims to reach young adults and teach them that nobody is perfect, hence the name "Busted Halo."
