Rooted in our Catholic faith and its social teachings, the Peace and Justice Commission seeks, through education, advocacy and sevice, to empower the people of the parish to participate actively on behalf of peace and justice.
The commission studies and responds to needs of the parish and our community in an effort to both alleviate the effects of injustice and remove its basic causes. The commission meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM in the Paulist Center. Anyone wishing to participate may call the parish office at 231-4955 or e-mail.

Social Justice—Many people ask, “What is all this ‘Social Justice’ talk?” This is not a new policy in the Catholic Church. These are the teachings of Jesus. They are the ‘how-to’ theology behind the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy that many people memorized once-upon-a-time. Now is a good time to stop and access how we put Jesus’ teachings into action. Where do these fit into your life? To help reflect on ways to put yourself in action, check out this site: http://www.networklobby.org/. Network is a voice within the Catholic community that has been influencing Congress in favor of peace and justice for more than 30 years. Network's Vision is to be a national movement of people who are challenged by the Gospel, Catholic social tradition and Earth principles.

Please consider joining the committee and volunteering to help coordinate the music, children's activities, recycling/composting, keynote reception or other fun tasks. This is a team effort and can't happen without you! Contact Karen Stein at director@muddyboot.org or 503-869-0713 for more info.

BUSTED HALO IS ON SIRIUS RADIO
"Busted Halo," weekdays, 7-9 p.m.(EST), hosted by Paulist Father Dave Dwyer, who was not ordained until he reached his 30s. He had a career in television (MTV, Comedy Central) and radio prior to entering the seminary.
