The Altar Society is a partner with a local agency
Bradley Angle in Portland, serves anyone affected by domestic violence. They do this by placing people experiencing, or at risk of, domestic violence at the center of their services and providing them with safety, education, empowerment, healing and hope. Some years ago, members of the parish Altar Society reached out to the agency to offer support. And that’s how it began.
To date, 670 “Welcome” bags have been delivered to the agency as a result of parishioner contributions and the efforts of the Altar Society volunteers. These “welcome” and hygiene bags— plus gift cards at Christmas—go to the women, children, and men sheltered at Bradley Angle who often arrive seeking safety with very little.
Your contribution, however small, would be appreciated and be part of the Altar Society’s efforts to show kindness to those beyond parish boundaries. If you write a check, drop it in the Sunday collection or at the office. Make it out to “St. Philip Altar Society” and put “Bradley Angle” in the memo line so it gets directed properly. Thank you for caring.
My DONATION to Bradley Angle—or send a check, making it out to: St. Philip Neri Altar Society, memo line “Bradley Angle.”
